Dear Friends,
We are currently in a historic moment in the life of our church. Starting today, the Cardinals in Rome have begun their conclave. This conclave, after a voting process, will elect our next Pope. Even though we do not know who this man is yet, let us pray for him and his papacy. Let us also pray to the Holy Spirit that it will guide the Cardinals in choosing the Pope that Christ wishes for his church.
It has been a busy few weeks here at St. Catherine's! On Friday, the Norwood Knights of Columbus hosted a dinner honoring the area's clergy. We are grateful for the fantastic work the Knights do for the church daily!
On Saturday, we had two beautiful First Communion Masses. The 10 a.m. Mass was for children at the school, and the 1 p.m. Mass was for the parish's children. We thank the school's faculty and the parish's religious education department for their hard work! Please pray for our young people; they are the future of our church!
This weekend, we said goodbye to our seminarian, Clifton Mastron. Clifton is finishing his studies at Pope Saint John National Seminary in Weston this week. He will then return to his home diocese of Wheeling, West Virginia, where he will serve at a parish and continue his journey to the Priesthood. We are so very grateful for Clifton's ministry among us, and I know he is very thankful for all of your prayers. Please continue to pray for Clifton and all men in seminary formation, we need good and holy Priests!
This Sunday is Mother's Day, we pray in a special way for all mothers and all future mothers in our parish!
"May the blessing of the divine be an especially divine benediction upon mothers everywhere, on your blessed day, on mothers' day!"
